Getting Started

Do I need to be a member of the Royal College of Pharmacy to access these modules?            

Yes, you need to be a full member of the Royal College of Pharmacy to access RCPharm Learn modules.

 

Do I need to create a new account to access these modules?            

No - full members of the Royal College of Pharmacy just need to login to their existing member account to access RCPharm Learn content. You can login via the link at the top of the page, and once you are logged in you will be returned to the page you logged in from.

 

I am a foundation trainee; can I access these e-learning modules for my revision?

Currently, RCPharm Learn is not available to Foundation Trainee members. As a Foundation Trainee we have a full Foundation Trainee Programme that provides comprehensive support and preparation to guide you through your Foundation training year. As an RCPharm member, upon qualifying as a pharmacist, RCPharm Learn will be available to you and included as part of your membership.

I am a student pharmacist; can I access the RCPharm Learn modules?

Currently, RCPharm Learn is not available to Student members.

Are all RCPharm Learn modules free to access and complete?

All full members of the Royal College of Pharmacy can access and complete RCPharm Learn modules free of charge.

Once you’ve found a module you want to access, you will need to enroll onto the module to access the content. You can enroll onto as many modules as you like.         

 

How can I view which modules are available?

You can view all available modules by viewing the 'All Content' category. Alternatively, use the Search Content tool - this can be found at the top of every page in the course catalogue, as well as on the homepage and course listing pages. 

 

Is there a maximum number of modules I can access?    

No, as a full member of the Royal College of Pharmacy you can access all available modules free of charge.

 


 

Enrolling

How do I enrol in a module?

Each module page will have an Enrol button - click it and it will add the module to your enrolment cart. You can add multiple modules to your cart and enrol in all simultaneously.

 

Click the cart icon at the top of the screen to view your active cart, and click the Checkout button to progress with the enrolment:

 

You will then be prompted to login to your rpharns.com account to complete the enrollment - click the green LOG IN WITH YOUR RCPHARM ACCOUNT button, then login using your membership details:

 

You will then return to your cart - please enter all the mandatory fields (marked with a * symbol) and select PROCEED to complete your enrollment:

 

How do I access the content after I have enrolled?

The enrolment completion page will contain a link to the modules you have enrolled in. Additionally, you will be sent an automated email with details of how to access your course. You can also visit your course hub to see your enrolled modules.

How can I see what modules I have previously enrolled in?

When you are logged in, click the My account option in the site header - it will show you which modules you have previosuly enrolled in, and give you a link to directly access the content of those modules.

What range of modules does RCPharm Learn offer?

We have a range of different modules to support your development and practice.  Modules will initially be available in the following categories:

  • Clinical & patient care
  • Career & development
  • Prescribing
  • Professional Practice
  • Research & evaluation             

 

What level are the modules aimed at? How much prior knowledge do I need? 

The modules aim to support members at different experience levels and in different settings of practice. We offer a variety of modules to support your learning, ranging from modules for members with limited knowledge on the topic area to modules for members with significant prior knowledge of the topic area.

When learning modules are designed for particular career stages or practice settings, this information is clearly indicated in the title or summary of the module.        

 

Can I search for modules by career stage, or setting of practice?

Currently, there isn't an option to search for learning content specifically by career stage or practice setting. However, when learning modules are designed for particular career stages or practice settings, this information is clearly indicated in the title or summary of the module.

Are there RCPharm Learn modules specific to the area of the UK that I practice in?

The modules are specifically designed for pharmacists practicing in Great Britain. They are not exclusive to a particular region within Great Britain.                

 

How often are RCPharm Learn modules updated?

As part of our quality assurance process, module content is reviewed and updated regularly.  Review dates vary depending on the type of content. The date can be found at the end of each module.           

 

Do all RCPharm Learn modules meet accessibility standards?

The platform and modules are designed with accessibility for learners, and our production processes comply with the latest web accessibility standards.          

 

Who writes the RCPharm Learn modules?

The RCPharm Learn content is written by a combination of subject matter experts, pharmacy educators and the RCPharm Education & Professional Development team.  All RCPharm Learn content undergoes robust quality assurance to ensure the content is accurate and up to date. 

 

How long does each RCPharm Learn module take to complete?

An estimated completion time will be included in the introduction section for each module. However, you can work through each module at your own pace. Most of our modules are designed to be bite-sized learning packages ranging from 10 to 30 minutes. Some modules are slightly longer but all modules have clear sections and can be completed over multiple visits as your progress will be tracked.

 

Once I begin a module, can I pause, and come back to it another day? 

Yes, all modules that you begin are tracked, so you can stop, pause and continue later. All your progress on a module will be saved.       

 

Is there a way to track my progress as I complete the module?

Yes, the platform automatically tracks your progress as you work through each section. Once you have finished all the required activities within the module, your progress will be marked as complete. You can easily monitor your progress and review which sections are outstanding, keeping you on track throughout your learning journey.       

 

What will I receive upon completing an RCPharm Learn module?

After you have completed all the activities and have met all the specified requirements for that module, you will be eligible to receive a certificate. To access and download your certificate, simply navigate to the 'Awards' section within RCPharm Learn. There, you will find the option to download your certificate and keep it for your records.

 


 

Personal Development

Can I use completed modules as part of my CPD or revalidation?

Yes, modules are designed to make it easy to support your revalidation and continuing professional development (CPD). Modules encourage you to reflect on your own practice and provide you with relevant, practical learning opportunities. This includes suggestions for:

  • CPD entries
  • quality improvement ideas
  • peer discussions
  • further learning
  • supporting resources

 

Can I use the learning for my assessment and credentialing portfolio?  

Yes, the learning modules within RCPharm Learn are mapped to RCPharm frameworks and curricula, making it easy to see how they support you in meeting knowledge-based learning outcomes. The modules you complete can aid your credentialing journey by providing essential knowledge for practical elements. If you are preparing for assessment, remember to complete a record within your e-portfolio to capture details of your learning.

We also recommend discussing your learning with peers, supervisors, mentors, or professional coach to ensure you understand how it supports credentialing. Their insights can be invaluable in guiding you through your journey.

 

Are all RCPharm Learn modules assessed?

The learning modules are designed to enhance your learning and consist of a variety of learning activities. Some modules may include, case studies, or multiple-choice quizzes to allow you to apply and test the learning. Some modules contain a formative assessment at the end to aid learning and help you identify any further learning needs.

 


 

Support & Technical Issues

What should I do if a module doesn't load properly? Who do I contact for technical support?

Please contact help.learning@rcpharm.org with the name of the module that you are having issues with, as well as details of the device type and browser software you are using to attempt to access the module content. We aim to respond to all queries within 2 working days.

 

What do I do if a link is not working?

Please contact help.learning@rcpharm.org with details of any broken links (i.e., name of the module containing the link, link text, destination of the link). We aim to respond to all queries within 2 working days.

 

Is there an App version of RCPharm Learn?

To ensure you have the best learning experience, we recommend accessing RCPharm Learn through a browser on your computer, phone, or tablet.

We understand the convenience of using an app for learning, therefore we are currently exploring access to an app version of RCPharm Learn for members. We will share relevant news and updates of any new developments once they are ready for release.                

 

Can I access modules on my mobile device?

Yes, modules can be accessed through mobile devices through a browser.      

 

Can I download RCPharm Learn modules to view offline?

RCPharm Learn content is designed to be accessed online; downloading the modules to view offline is not currently possible. One copy may be printed for personal use.
